Debrief: Social Media Spaghetti
Debrief: Social Media Spaghetti

Thank you to everyone who joined me for my first webinar, for whatever reason I was pretty nervous. For some reason having a one way conversation isn’t as easy as it seems but practice will make perfect. I plan to have bi-weekly webinars educating you on different internet marketing frontiers. Also, want to thank my wonderful sponsors, Emotion Portrait Studios aka Dogma Pet Portraits.

During the webinar I preached that without a plan, social media marketing will fail. Most people sit in front of their computers to post something to their social networks and draw a complete blank. They have no idea what to write (I am not criticizing – I too was in this situation). Or, even worst, you have complete WORD VOMIT and write something that adds no value to your audience. This can be detrimental to your brand and extremely annoying to those kind people who chose to be apart of your audience.

How do you solve this problem? Create a “Content Theme Outline.”

How do you create a super awesome “Content Theme Outline?” :

  • Do a “Spaghetti Brainstorm” session! Grab a bowl of spaghetti, a bottle of bubbly and just jot down every idea that comes to mind. Okay, spaghetti and bubbly not needed but strongly advised. Don’t sensor yourself, write down every theme idea that comes to mind, later you can decide what is trash. Here is a list of themes to get you started:

      • Keyword Definition
      • Client Spotlight
      • Industry Related News
      • Company Related News
      • Tip Of The Day
      • Book Review
      • Song Of The Day
      • Events
      • Fun Facts
      • Client Updates
      • Quotes
      • Giveaways
      • Contests/Sweepstakes
      • Power Partner Showcase

  • Plug theme ideas into a content them outline. Click the “Content Theme Outline” link below to download a poster I mad for you to  make this process easier.

  • Test out different themes until you have made the perfect outline for your business. Take note of which themes your audience engages with most – those are keepers!

Well done Ashley, to use the food photograph as a visual aid, and analogy was a brilliant attention getter!

Thank you Sandrinha – I think picking an appealing photo is an important part of creating content online!
